Setting up for success in 2022

14 February 2022

It’s been over a month into the new year, but as we enter the final stretch of the summer holidays it’s time to properly address resolutions for the rest of 2022. From us to you carnivores, there are a lot of ways to tackle the road ahead and create the best version of yourself, and we will dive into how throughout this blog. – PS. You’re already one step closer by simply being a Jack Link’s fan.

Nevertheless, let’s get into the ways in which we can all improve ourselves this year:

Become our fittest and healthiest selves:

Exercise 1180 x 660

As you may already know, it is always good to strive for and maintain a consistent and balanced diet, one in which that doesn’t rely too heavily on processed and ‘unhealthy’ foods (e.g., Potato chips – cough cough). A healthy balanced diet predominantly consists of a mix of the following:

  • Vegetables and fruits
  • Dairy products in small amounts (everything in moderation!)
  • A mix of whole grains and similar carbohydrates
  • A substantial amount of protein. Our nutritious Jack Link’s jerky and biltong is a great option to hit that protein intake! Additionally, our jerky has the bonus advantage of including not just protein, but a whole range of vitamins and minerals. For more relevant information, check out our commitment to nutrition at https://jacklinks.com.au/nutrition.

Of course, as much as a diet is one step closer to your fittest and healthiest self, exercise is just as vital! They work hand in hand. This year we encourage all of you to find the type of movement that gets you excited. It could be HIIT or yoga, or even running. Once you find what works for you, you can focus on consistency and soon results will follow.

Oh, and don’t forget to follow up your workout with a post-workout protein snack from the Jack Link’s range.

Adopting a new hobby:

In 2022 explore your interests and discover some new hobbies. It could be reading, video games, craft projects, etc. If you didn’t start a new hobby over the last year or so in and out of isolations then NOW, 2022, is the time! Catch up on those hobbies, especially if they lead to something that you can consider yourself proud of. While trying some jerky, maybe you could write a novel, or make a new painting? The sky’s the limit – and with our jerky you never have to go hungry while doing them haha! Meanwhile, our hobby will be to continue to produce some of the finest jerky in the market for your taste buds to enjoy.

Taking care of mental health:

Mental Health 1180 x 660

This is likely the most important of them all – even if the worst of 2021 is behind us, this year may still present some challenges through COVID-19 and the wild events preceding them. Although we can’t predict how this year will unfold, it’s important to keep a stiff upper lip and remain positive and in control of your thoughts. For that, we recommend implementing daily or weekly practices like mediation and yoga or keeping a journal to record thoughts and feelings.

Prioritising our mental health is a great goal for everyone and if you start now, we are sure you can kick start the year with a positive outlook.

We hope you all stay safe and healthy this year, from our veteran supporters to our new arrivals.
