An Event For True Champions…

How do they do it!?

For those of you new to surf boat racing, each crew spend the better part of the day competing in series of six heats to determine who will go through to the qualifiers. #fitmuch.

Following the gruelling series of six rounds, 16 mens and 10 woman’s crews battle it out through elimination, quarter and semi-finals until only 6 teams remain for the much anticipated men and woman’s finals!

Lucky we are beachside as these athletes need their protein whack!

The finish is in sight!

What makes it all so gruelling? Each race consists of pushing your surf boat off the beach (they ain’t light!), rowing through the brutal surf break, once you get over the break circle around the buoy positioned hundreds of meters out in the ocean and then return back to the beach where one lucky crew member sprints for their life to touch the pole before anyone else!

Phew, I’m exhausted just explaining it.

See what I mean!?

Not only keeping the athletes fuelled, during Event 1, we were patrolling up and down the beach handing out delicious packs of jerky! Over 800 samples were given out in one day!
Sydney just can’t get enough.

You can't miss us.
Happy camper!

Event 1 saw Dial Before You Dig (Bulli Crew) assert their dominance over the field bringing home a comfortable victory over a fast finishing Reilly & Sons Food Services (Avoca Beach) and Dial Before You Dig (Batemans Bay).

The incredible Exeter Plumbing (Palm Beach) dominated the woman’s final, coming home comfortable victors over Body Dreams (Torquay) and ABP Group (Currumbin).

Event # 2 will be held on Saturday 9th December 2018 at Dee Why Beach – starting 8.30am and running through til 4ish. We hope to see you there! If you cant make it don’t worry, there are still 2 more events!

Event 3: Saturday 13 January 2018 || Event 4: Saturday 3 February 2018

In the meantime, sit back and enjoy these sweet beach views from Event 1.
