OCEAN THUNDER EVENT 2 ACTION

OCEAN THUNDER EVENT 2 ACTION

An incredible spectacle.

How many do you think stayed in the boat?

The competitors and officials were delighted to see near perfect conditions with a neat, one metre wave under sunny blue skies. Spectators too were treated to jerky in one hand and Staminade in the other… what a way to spend a Saturday!

Love the mo!

Event one winners, last season’s Ocean Thunder and reigning Australian Champions Dial Before You Dig (Bulli) were shock early exits in the Men’s qualifying final… clearly they didn’t have their protein whack from Jack Link’s!

This paved way for Reilly & Son’s Food Services (Avoca Beach) to over come Dial Before You Dig (Batemans Bay) in a very tight finish with The Beach Club Collaroy/XXXX Gold (Collaroy) taking out third place.

The Women’s morning preliminary rounds were again dominated by the super impressive Exeter Plumbing(Palm Beach) who finished with five wins and a second. #girlpower!

The Women’s six boat final lined up as The Beach Club Collaroy/XXXX Gold (Collaroy), Ormeggio Restaurant (Palm Beach), last season’s series champions and event one winners Exeter Plumbing (Palm Beach), ABP Group Currumbin (Currumbin), Dial Before You Dig/Red Steer Hotel Motel (North Narrabeen) and Dial Before You Dig (Bondi).

Once again, the seemingly unbeatable Exeter Plumbing (Palm Beach) came away with victory over a fast finishing The Beach Club Collaroy/XXXX Gold (Collaroy) and ABP Group Currumbin (Currumbin).
