Snowy Mountains 1000 Sprint

Snowy Mountains 1000 Sprint

“I feel the need – the need for speed!”

We are excited to be sponsoring the Snowy Mountains 1000 Runway Sprint Event!

This unique race was conceived in 2011 after watching a Top Gear episode of a 1 mile race in the USA desert.  The Snowy Mountains 1000 was soon after developed and the team were the first to organise competitive 1000m runway sprints in Australia. For the past 4 years’ hundreds of racers have flocked to the Cooma Airport in the Snowy Mountains to race down the 1km Airport Runway while being timed – the fastest car wins!

The event currently holds both Australian time and speed records for 1km racing, national class records as well as Individual Vehicle World Records. These cars exceed 300km/h and the fastest car finished the sprint in only 16.725 seconds (yep… pretty much sneeze and it’s all over!)

In 2016, The Snowy Mountains 1000 is into its 5th year! Race day will be held on Saturday the 26th of November 2016, with 140 competing entrants. The event will see a diverse range of competing vehicles coming from all over Australia to take out the title.

The Willall Racing Nissan GTR, the fastest (328.3km/h) and quickest (16.725sec) car over 1000m in Australia currently

We are getting excited already! Keep posted for more updates in the lead up to the event and if you’re heading to the race there will be an opportunity to snatch up some Jerky!
